Q: What is SirsiDynix TechTalk?
A: Established by SirsiDynix in January 2007, SirsiDynix TechTalk is an online seminar series that provides free access to SirsiDynix speakers and events. Our mission is to support the library regarding relevant technology issues.
Q:How much does it cost to attend a SirsiDynix TechTalk Web Seminar?
A: SirsiDynix TechTalk web seminars are always free.
Q: Who presents SirsiDynix TechTalk web seminars?
A: SirsiDynix TechTalk presenters are selected from SirsiDynix staff and selected SirsiDynix partners. Presenters share their expertise and enhance your understanding of current topics important to SirsiDynix customers and others in the library world.

Q: How do I register for a SirsiDynix TechTalk web seminar?
A: To register for a seminar, visit our list of Upcoming Seminars. Next to each seminar is a "Register" link. Simply click the link next to the seminar you wish to attend and fill out the forms that follow.
During the registration process, we will ask you some questions to help in planning future sessions and to help you in the event of technical difficulties, but the information we collect will not be shared with other companies.Q: How do I participate in a SirsiDynix TechTalk web seminar?
A: Participating in Web conferences is as easy as typing a URL into your Web browser and using our toll-free conference line to dial into the session. After registering for a seminar, detailed instructions on how to join the conference will be e-mailed to you.
Q: How do I log in to the SirsiDynix TechTalk web seminar once it has started?
A: After registering for a seminar, detailed instructions will be emailed to you. Simply follow the instructions found in the email to log in and attend the seminar.
SirsiDynix TechTalk Technology:
Q: Is technical support available for SirsiDynix Institute web seminars?
A: Yes. Technical support is available through WebEx, the seminar technology provider. Technical support information is included in the e-mail you'll receive after registering for a seminar.
Q: What are the WebEx System Requirements?
A: There are multiple options available for Windows, Mac, Solaris, and Linux platforms.
Option #1, Windows Minimum requirements to host or attend fully interactive meetings using Meeting Manager for Windows:
- Microsoft Windows
- Windows 98, NT, 2000, XP, or 2003
- Intel or AMD (400MHZ +) or compatible processor
- 128 MB RAM
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, Mozilla 1.4 & above, Netscape 7.x, or Firefox 1.0 & above
- JavaScript and cookies enabled in the browser
- Active X enabled/unblocked for IE is recommended
- 56K or faster Internet connection
Option #2, Windows Minimum requirements to attend a meeting using the Java Meeting Manager on Windows:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 and 5, or Netscape Communicator 4
Option #3, Mac Minimum requirements to host or attend fully interactive meetings using Meeting Manager for Mac OS X:
- Power PC (G3)
- 256 MB RAM
- Mac OS 10.2, 10.3 or 10.4
- With Mac OS 10.2
- Java 1.4.1_01 for OS 10.2
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.2, Mozilla 1.4 & above, or Safari 1.0 and 1.3
- With Mac OS 10.3 and 10.4
- Java 1.4.2_05
- Mozilla 1.4 & above, Safari 1.0, 1.3 & 2.0, or Firefox 1.0 & above
- With Mac OS 10.2
- JavaScript and cookies enabled for the browser

Option #4, Solaris Minimum requirements to host or attend fully interactive meetings using Meeting Manager for Solaris:
- UltraSPARC processo
- 512 MB RAM
- 16-bit or better video display
- CDE Windowing system
- Solaris 8 or 9
- Java 1.4.2
- Mozilla 1.4 & above
- JavaScript and cookies enabled in the browser
- 56K or faster Internet connection
Option #4, Linux Minimum requirements to host or attend fully interactive meetings using Meeting Manager for Linux:
- Intel or AMD (400MHZ +) or compatible processor
- 256 MB RAM
- GNOME, KDE Windowing System
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, SuSE 9, Turbo Linux or JDS
- Java 1.4.2
- Mozilla 1.4 & above
- JavaScript and cookies enabled in the browser
- 56K or faster Internet connection
Archived SirsiDynix TechTalk Seminars:
Q: Are SirsiDynix TechTalk Web Seminars archived and available online?
A: Yes. All past seminars will be available on the Archived Seminars page. You should expect to see new sessions archived within a week of their actual presentation dates.
Q: Can I get a copy of the slides used in a SirsiDynix TechTalk Web Seminar?
A: During a live seminar, you can select "Print to PDF" to receive an Adobe Acrobat PDF of the presentation. After a live event, you will be able to view the slides used in a seminar by watching the seminar archive. Past seminars will be available on the Archived Seminars page.
